Maintenance Instructions: The wood is sealed with a low- or no-VOC product on all sides to protect against the outside elements. Used as an exterior product, sealer should be applied approximately every 4-5 years. When it is recoated, it must be done with Vintage Woods’ Maintenance Coating (click here to purchase).
*The 4-5 year time period is strictly a recommendation. Due to the elements and the different exposures where this product will be applied, some areas might need the sealant before this time period. Because these are elements out of our control, we recommend the recoating time period be solely up to the discretion of the owner.
Due to the nature of Vintage Woods and our deliberate attempt to make Vintage Woods look old we recommend not to remove any of the previous patina/finish and simply apply over the Vintage Woods. This process will change the color to be darker at first, but should lighten with time due to exterior elements and natural weathering.
